On my iPhone 4 that switch goes forward and back not up and down. Muted is away from you. Unmuted is toward you. I use a Bluetooth ear peace to leave my hands free to hold on to my dogs harness handle or when talking on the phone wile walking. I use the muted switch if I'm in a meeting. I can hear incoming calls via the ear peace but not through the speaker on my iPhone. I may let the call go to voice mail but I mentally make a note to call that party back as soon as my meeting brakes up etc. ----- Original Message ----- From: Alan Lemly To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, February 08, 2013 5:36 AM Subject: iPhone 5 Button Question
I got my new iPhone 5 yesterday and am making sure everything functions properly. The Finger Tips guide states that the phone has a Ring/Silent button on the top left-side above the volume up and down buttons. I feel this button but can't for the life of me get it to move. It does not seem to depress or slide that I can tell. How does this button work for others who have iPhone 5's. Am I not doing something right or is it possible this button is defective on my new phone? Thanks for any assistance with this.
