I got into a situation where favorites said calls and there was a filter button so I double tapped on Classic an things went back to normal with favorites being in the lower left and voicemail on the lower right; otherwise search was on the lower right! Too much customization if you ask me but no one did so what can I say? When I was on 26, it seemed like it said there were 6 tabs, but there never was a sixth tab. Sometimes, the recents said Calls, instead of recents. But it has been pretty normal for me. Have you rebooted the phone? And I assume you are not on a beta. If this keeps up, I'd contact Apple Accessibility.
