And it really has nothing to do with whether you are in Canada, the US or elsewhere, if a merchant has a contactless terminal then it works just fine. Of course how quickly you can use it depends on whether you authenticate with Face Id and can do so quite reliably, from time to time if Face Id authentication does not work you would ten have to enter your passcode before the transaction is approved. I usually prefer to use it via my Apple Watch because as long as it is on my wrist and I entered my passcode the first time after I put it on, no further authentication is required, I just hold the watch to the terminal and it goes through.
