Well, I just learned something new that is amazingly impressive. You can do this easily with the Files app on your iPhone or iPad.
This apparently has been possible for several iOS version. Open the files app. Get into a folder where you want the PDF to be saved. Double tap the More button and select Scan Document. Note, once you position the camera so it can see all four edges, it takes the picture automatically. Then, there is either a done or ready for next page button. Once you hit done. It will default to saving it as a PDF and you can edit the file name. Then, you can send a copy by selecting send copy and then your preferred method like messages, mail, etc. I tested this on a twin-vision book I have and showed the scanned page to my wife and she was very impressed. It is not doing Ocr, just using the scanned image. My personal preference is VDScan, formerly Voice Dream Scanner, which is $9.99 I believe still. I'm not sure if Seeing AI, which is free, can do this.
