I do not like them crowding GB space in my phone. If I was as good a
housekeeper with my house, as I am with my phone and computer, I'd win some
kind of award.

Subject: Re: Question about a box in the native email client

Google has been doing things this way for over 10 years. So, Email clients have
some knowledge of this and even though you can see the listing of all those
messages, they won’t be downloaded to your system unless you click on them.

So the best thing to do is just ignore the folder, except perhaps for cleanup
purposes.

That’s what seems to be the case and I was really hoping somebody would
say no go ahead. It’s all good. So you have this massive duplication of emails
and it doesn’t make a bit of sense. Oh well. So be it. I guess I’ll leave it
alone.

This is a Google feature and no when you see all mail. It really means
all mail in any mailbox so if you delete it from there, you delete it from
everywhere.

                Hi all,

In the standard email client in the iPhone, there is a box
titled all mail. What is the purpose of that box? I notice that it seems to
have all the emails in it that have been put in other folders and when you
delete one, it also disappears from the folder that it has been moved to as
well. I have many folders and right now the all mail folder has over 3000
emails in it. Is there any way to remove all these emails without them being
removed from other folders? If someone could explain this to me, I’d really
appreciate it. Thanks much.
