Hi, thanks for this.

I wonder if one can share their screen and/or send a link to joinn chat from the computer?

I'm on Woindows 10 and prefer using WhatsApp on the laptop.

WhatsApp (note the spelling, it's not "What's Up") is a very feature rich messaging and communication platform which allows you to send simple text messages, also you can send voice messages as well as phhotos and videos and also share your screen with whoever you are talking to.

You can also create a link for a group call and send it to others and just as with a Facetime link, anybody who gets it can join via a browser if they don't have WhatsApp installed.

There are apps for the iPhone as well as Android and there is also a Windows app in the Microsoft Store which you can install and then you get all your messages on the computer as well and you can reply there or make calls from your computer.

Currently you can only call other WhatsApp users, you cannot make a call to any landline or mobile number (regular phone call) as you can with Skype or Viber (of course you do need to buy credits for making phone calls with those apps as it is not free.

However, WhatsApp says " WhatsApp is used by over two billion people in more than 180 countries. Whoever you need to reach, they’re probably on WhatsApp."

I think WhatsApp is becoming more purvasive in North America, in Europe already most people use it and in my opinion it's one of these apps you really wantto have on  your phone and use because it's easy, fully end to end encrypted and it works extremely well and it's cross platform which means it makes no difference whether you are calling another iPhone user or an Android user.

Ther eare also WhatsApps groups and communities, e.g. you could have a group for blind iPhone users and such groups actually exist already and just as with an email group, you can join and then send messages asking questions etc.

I live in a small town of about 5000 people and we have a WhatsApp group with all the merchants along our small downtow Main Street. It was primarily set up because unfortunately we have our share of shop lifting and theft and if somebody goes into one store to steel something whether successful or not, if the store owner or staff notices, they can post a description of the person along with a picture or video if they have security cameras and other stores can pay extra attention to who comesin.

A WhatsApp group used to be able to have 256 people in it, then it was increased to 512 and currently you can have up to 1024 people in a WhatsApp group.

I believe a WhatsApp Community can have up to 2000 members.

Hi.  This evening I tried to make a facetime call to someone with
an android phone. Siri said creating a link and there seemed to be
a call in progress, but I couldn’t figure out how to invite her to
my facetime.  Hope this makes sense. Has anyone tried this and how
do you do it?  Seems like it should be possible.

    Thanks in advance.

    God bless!
