Hi Lisa, Yes, that is what I want to keep the original format for sighted people. I will now scan and save in PDF format for the sighted people. I will then scan and save in text and send it to my Computer, so I can read it myself.

If you're positive that the whole letter has been scanned, PDF is your best bet. A text only copy would remove most formatting if that is what you're wanting to preserve.
