If you make international calls via Wi-Fi then those use data and they would still be free if the data used was coming from a cellular connection. The bigger issue are other devices, not too many people have only an iPhone, they may have an Apple TV, a laptop or even just an Alexa or Google Smart speaker and as soon as that is the case not having a separate, permanent connection to the internet and a local Wi-Fi network which covers your home is a major inconvenience at best and may even prevent you from using some of these devices.

I haven’t called my internet provider ATT yet to ask about why suddenly my Wi-Fi connections are not holding only on my phone. I haven’t yet downloaded the iOS 16.46.1 to know about the download speed though. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
