You didn't say which phone that you have; is it possible that screen recognition is turned on? Or that screen recognition needs to be turned on to help you to be able to navigate to whatever is preventing you from being able to use the app. I am not having any trouble using the alexa app. & I seem to recall having to use screen recognition just long enough to be able to get past the problem, then turn screen recognition off.
