You are right, Arnold, I somehow thought the 5C was released in 2014 along with the 6 and 6 Plus, but it was released in 2013 along with the 5S as a lower cost alternative and basically with iPhone 5 components so if somebody still has a working iPhone 5C this means it would now be 8 years old provided of course it was bought in the fall of 2013.

As for whether they will issue an update for this latest threat, which sounds like a serious threat to me, I don't know. Keep in mind that in a few days, IOS 12 will be three generations out of date, so I don't know that they will. As far as the 5c, wow, the fartherest it will update is, I think, IOS 10 x. That will be five generations out of date when 15 comes along. Hey, it could be worse. I am told it is better now, but for a while, Android didn't update their devices after two years.
