Hi,

This sounds like your "offload unused apps" option is turned on. When it is on,
IOS will offload an app if it is not used within a certain time frame. Its data
is retained but you will need to download the app again before using it When an
app is offloaded, the "in iCloud" wording is usually immediately after the app
name. This feature is meant to help those whose phones are almost out of
available memory.

The setting is under:
Settings/Appstore/Offset unused apps.

Hope this helps.

Hello IPhone Listers,

Over the past week or so, I've noticed that some of my APPS are listed as being
in iCloud and when I open them, they download again before opening. Past
attempts to open such files have resulted in their opening without having to
download them again. Why might this be happening? Any suggestions? Thanks in
advance.

Peace & Blessings,
