Is she using the most recent IOS update? This problem was fixed a short while ago. Have her to clear all apps from the app switcher, then completely power off her phone & wait a couple minutes before powering the phone back on. If she has the most recent IOS update, hopefully, powering off the phone will solve the problem. I'm not having any problems with the calendar app.
