Have you closed all apps out of the app switcher and rebooted the phone? It sounds like your phones resources are very limited. As for the locking, make sure you do not have low power mode on, which you can turn off with Siri, or under the Settings, Battery. And the auto lock time can be set in settings, under display and brightness. HTH,
