Hi Richard,

Yes, there's a Notes app on the Mac, and it syncs with the one on iOS devices 
as long as the notes are created in the iCloud folder  of the app and iCloud is 
turned on on both the Mac and the iOS device or devices. Also, Notes needs to 
be turned on in iCloud settings on all devices that you want to sync. If you 
turn on iCloud on each device, Notes should be on by default.

It's also possible, when setting up an email account with a service like 
Google, to turn on Notes. If you do that on all the devices and create notes in 
the folder for the service you chose, notes will sync via that service.
