Any books you have from an iPhone with bard mobile, will not get
transferred onto a new iPhone at this time. That is one reason why I
won't at this time get a new iPhone. Also, I've only had my iPhone 8
for only about one year and it would make no sense to get a new iPhone
at this time. I've got about 950 bard books on my iPhone 8, and I'm
not going to lose all those books just because a new iPhone can't yet
transfer those books to a new one.

I deleted the rest of this message thread only because what I'm about to
write has nothing to do with cameras. It does, however, have a lot to do
with backups and what they actually back up; or, in my case, don't.
Yesterday, I upgraded from an iPhone 8 Plus to a 10S Max. I used the
quick-start method and had very little trouble with the camera part,
once I figured out which camera was supposed to be looking at which
device. :-) It also took a while for the phone-to-phone transfer to get
underway, and for that, I have no explanation.
The trouble started when, after restarting the phone, I discovered that,
among other things, my VoiceOver and typing settings were not
transferred. So, what to do about this? Maybe restoring a recent backup
would do the trick. So off to iCloud I went, chose the backup I made
earlier yesterday morning, and executed its restore function. The
restore completed successfully, but upon completion, I was left with no
operable VoiceOver. It could be turned on and off in all the usual ways,
but nothing ever came out of the 10S Max's speaker. I turned VO Off and
handed the phone to my wife (who can see) and asked her to go through
the VoiceOver settings, just in case something got farkled. She
suggested that I try turning VO on by tapping the icon (or in her case,
sliding it) in the VO Settings screen. Wouldn't ya know it, VoiceOver
came up, and it had all my previous settings--speed, voice, typing mode,
everything--everything from my previous phone all working.
So, why or how did it happen that, when I transferred things from the
old to the new phone, I didn't get those settings preserved and
migrated? I haven't the first notion. Why did restoring a backup hose
VO? Again, not a clue.
And here's one other thing, but this one might be totally on me. When I
went into BARD Mobile, not only did I have to log in, but all the books
and magazines I had on my old device were gone. I can probably get them
back from the "Recently Downloaded" section, or just download them again
manually--there weren't that many, maybe about forty items--but I was
disappointed when all the BARD stuff didn't migrate or get restored.
