Wow, now that's plain overkill, it would be like going to somebody's house and pushing the doorbell for 2 minutes if they don't come to the door right away. It does seem to take a couple of seconds longer on the newer phones, but they also boot up a lot faster. If you push the power button and count to 4 as in 1 1000, 2 1000, 3 1000 4 1000 it is long enough. I guess you could go to 5 if you want to be really sure, but I just did this on my iPhone 8 while my wife was watching and just after I was at 3 1000 she said she saw the Apple on the screen and then I counted to about 8 after that before Voiceover started. Just make sure you give it a good firm push, especially if you have a case since some cases require you to push a bit harder and after you count to 4 or 5 let go and give it another 8 to 10 seconds (longer with an older phone).
