Fair enough Jonathan, and I did think about that since I knew Todd was deaf blind. If he'd said Android wasn't an option for him because of it's inadequate braille support then I never would have said anything. Since he made a blanket statement though, I guess I jumped in when maybe the smarter thing would have been to let it go.

I think of myself as sympathetic to the deaf blind, but I admit, I don't often think of the challenges faced by the deaf blind. I'm also not sure that I agree with Todd that his deaf blindness explains away his rudeness on this list.

Hi Christopher, Todd is Deaf Blind, so for him, Android is not at all

I have learned the hard way that there is little sympathy on this list,
or in the blind community as a whole it seems, for the needs of the Deaf
Blind which is why I have mostly stopped posting here. But I did want to
chime in and at least make this point.

Have you personally tried both platforms? I don't have a problem with
someone having an opinion and thinking IOS is more accessible than
Android, but I think it's a disservice to blind people everywhere to
state something as a fact that's only an opinion. this is especially
true when it isn't based on personal experience but rather just hear
say. There are definitely areas where IOS is more accessible than
Android, but for how I use my phone, I find Android is just as
accessible as Apple. IMHO, the question of whether one is more
accessible than the other is more complicated than just stating it's a
fact. It goes to how each person uses their phone and what each person
finds to be important to them. This is why I like reviews from people
who have used both platforms and I discourage people from listening to
one line statements.

Besides, you've said both that Android isn't accessible at all and
that it isn't as as accessible as IOS. These two statements aren't the
same, so which are you saying is a simple fact?

Chris,

No. It is a simple fact. I am sure Rich will tell you about it.

You are missing something this time.

It's an opinion, and it may be your opinion, but it's not a truth. I
find Android as accessible as Apple, and even though I still use an
iPhone at the office, I've switched to using an Android phone for my
own personal use.

Also, in your first message, you said that Android wasn't accessible
at all, which isn't nearly the same thing as saying Android isn't as
accessible as Apple, which is what you said in your second message.

Chris,

Whatever you say. I am aware of Android not being as accessible.
 This is true.

That is all I can tell you.

It's not true that Android isn't accessible at all. You may think
Apple is more accessible, but that's not the same thing as Android
not being accessible at all.

I've always found the Apple apps I can't remove from my iPhone to be
an annoyance and not a huge deal. If this is our biggest concern
with Apple then they must be doing a great job with accessibility!

Mary,

Yes, they seem to be so, but Apple Inc. needs to do something about
this. Not all want these or any of the “undeletable” apps. I did
tell the staff at Apple Accessibility on this one. They fail to
realize this.

Android is not accessible at all. iPhone is the most accessible
device so far. I do not bother Android at all.

My guess is that health and home can't be deleted because they're
not just simple apps. If you can't deal with that by putting them on
the last page of your device into a folder that you may name trash or
whatever, I suggest you get an android and see if you like that any
better. This is such a non-issue. Just move the damn things where you
don't have to look at them and forget about it. Why is that hard?

Now you realize why I stood very firm about what I said of the

One person on this list claimed that Home app can be deleted, but,
when I tried doing so, it will not. It says “Your Homekit will not
be deleted”. This really sucks. I have absolutely no need for it.

Yes, y’all need to understand that. That is what Apple Inc. fails
   to realize.

Also, Health app does not show “activate” or “Arranging apps”. What
   kind of thing is that?

   Use your common sense!

That is all I can say now.

   Thanks,
