hi, if you go settings, messages, you can turn on iMessages in there.

Hi Ray, enable Wi-Fi calling for your phone if it isn't already. Then
make sure your iPad and your phone or on the same Wi-Fi network. And
I think that should do it for you. You can also enable iMessage on
your iPad so that you can get text messages or at least iMessages, I
don't know about non-iMessage messages.
