On the bottom of your screen you will have choices such as requests, news feed, messenger, notifications, and more. Tap on notifications. You will get this list that has upcoming birthdays, upcoming events, etc. Flick through until you hear notifications and 2-finger tap on notifications. Then, the list of notifications that we all have grown accustomed to will come up. I hope this helps.
