This has worked this way for me for a few versions of IOS. I'm not sure when it was introduced.

Bill, yes, I had the exact same experience. We all need to report this to Apple

Hey guys,

OK, i don't know whether i should be concerned or what, but i have never seen
this before. I went to settings, and general, and software update to go get
the new 8.3.
When i clicked software update, i flicked right, it said software update
heading, then i flicked once more, and all i heard was a click sound, then if i
flicked again i heard the bong which means you're at the end of where you can
go. I'd enver had this happen before. In order to get to the download of the
IOS, i had to go all over the screen to find the button to click on. This is a
concern, as this has never happened before. Any ideas, could something be
wrong?
