Here’s how I clean the lens.
I use the MicroFiber cloth that apple ships. I dampen it with water and ring it 
out really good. With the lens facing down toward the floor, I wipe the lens 
with the cloth. Then I use a dry cloth to remove all remaining moister. It 
works every time and I’ve never had any problems. Apple says to use the cloth 
dampened with water rung out then clean the iPhone the same with the screen on 
the Mac computers.
