If you are at a friend's house and download a few apps, there certainly is a need to transfer them to your computer, through the use of iTunes, when you next check for updates using your PC. Isn't this one of the reasons that you sync your PC and phone through iTunes?

Their really is no need to transfer apps from the phone to the pc
since they can always be downloaded from the app store to your phone.

Maybe. In any case, the transfer from phone to library, I think, is
supposed to be transferring only info gotten or changed from the last time
you updated. In any case, I would wait, because music files and other such
material might be reworked during the process.

Hi, I have a similar question but not to the same extreme. My transfer
purchases seems to take much longer as well and has for a while now. It only seems to transfer the apps I have downloaded since the last transfer and any
I have updated, but it can take several minutes for each app to be
transferred. I don't remember waiting this long in the past. Have I simply
grown much more impatient? Smile.

from iPhone to PC

  Hi,

I did an encrypted backup of my iPhone 6 this afternoon.

Then I initiated a Transfer Purchases from iPhone to PC. It is now in its 3rd hour. I haven't purchased that much, and never before has the Transfer
portion of bacup / transfer / synch taken this long.

Do I just hang in there or cancel the transfer process?

  Appreciate any guidance.

  Keith
