In order to be able to fetch, your clone must be in a "stable" state,
i.e. if you have made changes and want to keep them, you need to commit
them. No need to give them a branch name, the pull will add the new
changesets as children of the same parents they had on the remote repo,
then (if necessary) a merge will add your own changes.
