Libvirt also does a good job in general of adding extra configuration sometimes which can be good and bad sometimes if it does a bad job or if you forget to check. Its helpful to find new tools sometimes like dpc latency checker (thanks again bronek that helped me a lot) also something to give you an idea: (see attached)
Also this page has been immensely helpful i suggest bookmarking it, sometimes it inaccurate but for the most part very good: https://libvirt.org/formatdomain.html Its important also note that things are being isolated quite a bit from each other which is good; theres been some problems with thunderbolt where laptops have been unlocked using a device connected to thunderbolt (evidently the root complex allows devices to have direct access to memory for some things various reasons—its very complicated.)
