Yes I did that research a month or two back into what was causing the problem (it was vpopmail's parse_email() function). This particular bug was fixed in vpopmail-5.3.5 After discovering this, I went and rebuilt my server's courier-imap --with-authdaemon --with-authvchkpw I have been running it in production now for a month or two (vpopmail-5.3.24/26).
