Courier pop3d is run directly by courier, as a daemon, and (as long as I know) cannot be run using tcpserver.
Read courier documentation.
You'll find an initial courier command file that must be run at startup time
(I have
/mypath/courier-imap-1.5.1/libexec/pop3d.rc start
as my starting command).I'm using courier pop3d, and I find it much (a lot) faster than qmail pop3d.
