Around May of 2009, I installed VirtualBox-OSE version 2.1.4. I, also,
want to upgrade to 3.0.8, but I have absolutely NO reason to avoid
uninstalling; I simply want to do a somewhat awkward back-up first. I
have been told, by VERY knowledgeable people, that the two versions
cannot co-exist; it is essential to uninstall version 2.x.x before
trying to install 3.x.x. Sorry about the news being "bad" -- but at
least it is the truth!
