Greetings --

Last week, I posted a question about speeding-up a Win98 client (or
guest) operating system. Several people were kind enough to reply. I
thank each of you.

I was able to get my hands on a legitimate and otherwise-unused copy of
Windows XP Pro. Therefore, I completely deleted Win98, and then
installed XP Pro and the Guest Additions. Then I installed my complex
application -- with a "day-and-night" difference in installation
time!!! Some communication with the vendor was inescapable, and it was
accomplished with a minimum of difficulty. Both XP and the big
application are running just fine for me.

This experience effectively supports the comments of most that Win98
under VirtualBox is to be avoided. It is also a significant change in
my own situation. THANKS for the comments -- they HAVE been MOST
helpful to me in trying to understand and resolve the issues!!!!!
