FWIW, I have another installation of VBox with WinXP as a guest on another machine, albeit the disk is a virtual one, not on a real partition and it run beautifully. When the XP guest is idle and doing nothing, there is barely a blip on my host's CPU.
I just wish this other installation I have on the real disk partition would behave as well. Maybe I will try two things... moving the whole disk into a virtual disk on the same machine as it's in a partition and see if that makes a difference and if not, then move the virtual disk to the machine with my good installation and see if that makes a difference. ~sigh~ Just so much dicking around though. b.
