Thanks for the help, just curious if anyone knows a Y-connector USB cable that they tried that works to provide extra power while maintaining the data rate. I tried an Insten one but the data rate was horrible.

USB3 or USB2? You're running Ubuntu 14.04? That was from back in the days when USB3 support was not as robust as it is today. I'm going to suggest two things: (A) Upgrade to a newer OS (B) Check the power specs on your USB--it may not be providing enough power to the B200mini, and in which case, I'd recommend one of those "Y" cables that allows you to steal extra power from a 2nd USB port.
