Thank you for your answer Markus!

The power which is computed by squaring the real and imaginary components of the digital signal is not equal to the absolute RF power measured at the receiver port, right?

I guess the absolute RF power cannot be measured but the power difference between two signals.

Thank you very much in advance.

Maria Jesus

No there is not.

and adding and averaging over a suitable time interval.

Phase is always measured relative to some other signal. So measuring at the
antenna port makes no sense. Unless you’re talking about measuring signal
phase change. Which is definitely still a digital domain question.

Thank you very much for your answer, it has been really useful.

Another question I wanted to ask is if it is possible to measure the RF power
and phase at the receiver port before the signal goes to the ADC. If so, how
can I obtain that RF information? Is there a way to show it in GNU radio or I
need another software?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

No, it's not. Each of your UBX-160 has one Rx chain.

BTW somehow it is common confusion that Tx/Rx and Rx2 ports can be used
to receive signals simultaneously. I have to explain this even to people
with professor degree in electronic engineering, that behind these ports
there is one Rx chain and there are switches on UBX/SBX/WBX/etc that
select to which of these ports this Rx chain is connected.

As Fabian has written there are TwinRX daughter cards, each with two Rx
chains, that you can use on a USRP X310 to have 4 receivers.

Hi again,

Thank you very much for your answer. I have bought two daughter boards
UBX-160, is that enough to have 4 receivers at the same time?

Thank you!

Maria Jesus
