So, technically, the 12 bit DAC would make ca 12·3 dB dynamic range. But: the device is typically used in an oversampling scenario, so you can add more dB. Hence, this is impossible to say without knowing your sampling rate and Master Clock Rate in use. Even so, dithering can make a great difference! So, this even further depends on the nature of your signals. Can you elaborate on what you're building?
