Hello
This follows on from my query yesterday where I was having trouble getting
Tomcat 6.0.26 to start as
a Windows service on a 64 bit Windows 7 PC. Well, I have set the relevant
authorities but I find
that although Tomcat will start / stop via the batch files in the /bin folder,
when set as a Windows
service, I get a message that:
Windows could not start the service on the Local Computer. For more information
review the System
Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and
refer to
service-specifc error code 0.
Have you any iseas at all?
The Tomcat logs display nothing when the above happens.

Hi, Martin-
What shows up in the event log? I encountered a similar problem running
Tomcat with a 32-bit JVM on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64-bit) and ended up
uninstalling Tomcat and completely removing ALL JVMs and then
reinstalling to get the system work.
