Hi! I would like to seek help in installing or configuring tomcat 6.0.29. I'm currently migrating my applications from Tomcat 5.5.26 to Tomcat 6.0.29 as advised by our security scan because of several vulnerabilities that have already been resolved in the latest version. Unfortunately, after migration & rescanning of the server, it cannot detect the tomcat version as 6.0.29. It still suggests to check on my tomcat version. Although, we have already reported to check on security scan forthe wrong version that it detects, I was just wondering if i missed some steps during installation/configuration for it not to be detected as version 6.0.29. Can i request anybody to validate my steps.
The server is using OS, Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 SP 2 , java version, jdk 1.5 update 15 32 bit and Apache web server , Apache 2.2.15. The Apache web server uses the mod_jk module, version 1.2.26, to connect to Apache Tomcat application server. Since the windows installer, apache-tomcat-6.0.29.exe, automatically detects the platform, it installs 64 bit version of tomcat. But unfortunately, I'm using only 32 bit jdk. So, after uninstalling the tomcat 5.5 version, I used the 32 bit Windows compressed installer, apache-tomcat-6.0.29-windows-x86.zip, & unpack it in the server. I installed the tomcat service via TOMCAT_HOME/bin/service.bat, as describe in Windows Service HOW -TO in setup documents. After that, I have migrated my applications by reconfiguring the server.xml, i just copied the additional HOST element from backup of tomcat 5.5 and copied some application libraries in TOMCAT_HOME/lib folder from the backup of tomcat 5.5. The checkout by users was ok. i tried checking the http header via telnet command: <html><head><title>Apache Tomcat/6.0.29 .. I found out from the forum on how i can check the tomcat version by running the version.bat and it print out the following info: Server version: Apache Tomcat/6.0.29 Server built: July 19 2010 1458 Server number: 6.0.0.29 help would be very much appreciated.
