Thanks but I find the advice a bit cryptic.  Do you mean the ones  (taken from 
the build-properties file) below?

beleiving on a linux box   these were  unnecessarhy  but     tomcat insisted  
on these and   on   /win64/tcnative-1.dll  /win32/tcnative-1.dll  to build 
tomcat-native connectors
