Alternatively, you can/should be able to run/start/launch taskmgr [CTRL-ALT-DEL]. I cannot recall if Task Manager in WinXP allows/shows the PID by default.
Click on the "Processes" tab. Click on the View menu, then choose "Select Columns..." On the resulting pop-up window, select "PID (Process Identifier)" and click the OK button.
