Where's this chart? By the way, as far as I know, Play doesn't use JSP nor the Servlet API. Regarding Tapestry vs JSP, Tapestry has more way more features and way more productive, while JSP is almost bare-bones, so some overhead is expected.
I think performance tests should compare complex web pages and form handling because trivial test cases are unlikely to stretch the frameworks to reveal substantial practical differences.
Yep. That's also why comparing web frameworks performance is very difficult.
