Hi Massimo, I've found that some of the packages for java-related software from Ubuntu might be a bit dubious. For example the default JDK is open-jdk and not the sun one. It's probably best to install the sun jdk and get tomcat from the Apache repository and not rely on Ubuntu packages.

Yep, I'm using T5.2 (current trunk), sorry for forgetting to not mention it. And this is a plain install of a 9.10 with tomcat from Synaptic Package Manager with all it's defaults.
