Hi guys, I've been sitting in my nice and soft chair, this time with a chilled beer in my right hand, reading and enjoying this thread with really big LOLs. And I noticed also there is a page on the Tapestry 5 wiki devoted to my name. I have no problem with that at all. People who come across this page would surely follow through to what I've written and would judge for themselves.
My mission remains unchanged though. My mission is to pinpoint to newbies and the ignorants the history and the craziness going on with Tapestry's release cycles. Fanatics of Tapestry may claim it's fun to work with (at least until they try Wicket or GWT), which I personally disagree, but their joy would turn to grief, tears and sorrows when Tapestry 6 comes out. I want to tell newbies- if you work for a serious organisation, don't go with Tapestry. You may end up loosing your job. Howard claims he has trained 100 Tapestry users since Tapestry's inception 7 years ago. Yes, in 7 years he's been able to train only 100 people. I personally would expect 10 fold of that figure. That says a lot about Tapestry's adoption. So mister newbie, after reading this google some more about Tapestry and make your own mind. I personally would ask you to seriously look into other frameworks such as Wicket and GWT. Looking into Adobe Flex won't be a bad idea either, which I know Howard agrees with me. For a reference, check on his blog. Yours friendly, Rob On Wed, Apr 16, 2008 at 4:07 PM, Filip S.
