besides my previous mail about how to handle CenTOS:it is *very* likely that you updated other packages too realted to perl and they may have overwritten your CPAN installations of the same package
happened to me too in 2009 and from that day i stopped to use CPAN and build anything from there in a RPM with a higher Epoch/Release number in case i need to override a distributions version
