OK. The first two lines can stay as-is. Remove the current nameserver entries, and add "nameserver 127.0.0.1". (optional) ... then "chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf", so that no (un)helpful little widget can overwrite your settings and break things. From the very first time I met something that stuck its fingers into this file, I have never had any such utility do anything other than break things, so I now routinely set the "immutable" bit so that anything that tries to modify the file will fail. -kgd
