I am the official ports maintainer for the Freebsd SA port and had a
user find an interesting problem.
He upgraded from an older version of the port, (still 3.2.5), june
2008, the update channel was spamassassin.kludge.org
that was in ../spamassassin/3.002005/updates_spamassassin_org/MIRRORED.BY
(specifically for googlers looking for problem: key on this: rm -rf
../spamassassin/3*/updates_spamassassin_org/MIRRORED.BY and re-run
sa-update.
[54304] dbg: channel: reading MIRRORED.BY file
[54304] dbg: channel: found mirror http://spamassassin.kluge.net/updates/
[54304] dbg: channel: selected mirror http://spamassassin.kluge.net/updates
[54304] dbg: http: GET request,
http://spamassassin.kluge.net/updates/759778.tar.gz
[54304] dbg: http: request failed, retrying: 500 Can't connect to
spamassassin.kluge.net:80 (Bad hostname 'spamassassin.kluge.net')
catch 22 is this:
if sa-update can't find an update, it won't update MIRRORED.BY, do you
have to delete it and sa-update will put the right one in (somehow).
don't know if this should be reported as a bug, and don't know the real fix.
don't want to advocate that you delete MIRRORED.BY since an integrator
might point his files to a central cerver.
