Well the SARE_* rules come from the SARE rulesets over at

Not true; I update the SARE runs using sa-update
So you are saying just by typing 'sa-update' *alone* updates your sare
rules? I'm running 3.1.8 and by default sa-update just updates the default
rules. I added the necessary steps outlined on www.rulesemporium.com to get
the sare rules updating using a separate script.
add the line ...
saupdates.openprotect.com
... to your channels file
I think that's it.
Correct. You have to *manually* add something else. I was just stating for
the record sa-update by itself brand new out of the box so-to-speak only
updates the dafault ruleset.
Myself, I have a file I use that specifies the individual sare rules to
update. This same file has 'updates.spamassassin.org' contained within so
I can update everything with one command that runs as a cron job on the
server.
