Ok, so spamd is running.. Question, how exactly are you feeding these messages to spamc? Have you tried using spamc -l -r? The -l will send error messages to the console your at, instead of syslog. Have you checked your syslog (probably /var/log/maillog) to see if spamd is receiving and processing the message?
