The problem with a "complete package" is that most component may conflict with the ones available in the hosting linux distro. Please note most of the requirements are latest versions of packages, which may not be available in every distribution and an attempt to update them is strongly dependent on your kind of distro. By letting you know which component version is required, you may manage to obtain an update for your own distro, choose to de-installa the old package in it and compile a new version from sources, or even (in some cases) manage not to use that component.
