I am running the latest version of amavisd-new (2.4.4) However, what you just said clicked. I'm running amavisd-milter 1.2.1 and I'm betting this is the problem (since you said it's the milter that actually inserts the header). In fact, I see in the release-notes that the latest version of the milter "Add[s] synthesized Received header for Spamassassin." I'm betting something didn't get done correctly in this fix. Unfortunately, I need to figure out how to find the output of the milter *prior* to getting to spamassassin so that I can troubleshoot this issue. Thanks for your help. I'll keep plugging away. -b
