If you have problems with CPAN you can always try updating them via yum. However, Amavis seems to do it's own thing with regard to rules and updates, quite what I'm not sure; but there have been a good few questions recently about why Amavis ignores things like the local.cf etc. It may be worthwhile scanning back through the mail archives and seeing if there's any help there. Updating SA to 3.1.7 may also be a good move. If Theo get's a chance he may be able to point you in the right direction, he's corrected me with just about every other post I've made regarding Amavis ;-D In my defence I don't use it so it's hard to offer sensible suggestions.
