Yes, I see stuff in there, and in the directories I see the normal SA
rules and the SARE rules.
If so, you should see something similar to:
<...>
dbg: config: read file /etc/spamassassin/init.pre
That's where it goes astray (?) and uses everything from
/usr/local/perl-5.8.8/etc/mail/spamassassin
