I was getting a lot of those too until I installed the libungif-tools 
RPM (RedHat 9 and RedHat EL 3)

Of course, giftopnm and jpegtopnm are installed in /usr/bin/ and are  
working : all the examples provided whith FuzzyOcr "passed".

Any idea of the error ?
