spamc isnt running at all. when i type spamc 2>&1|tee /tmp/error.log it doesnt give any errors in error.log, the prompt just remains blank until i pres ctrl+c.
It would help to give spamc some input.

How does your email setup fall together? Mail comes into your system
somehow. What program is involved? What programs does that program
invoke to filter and deliver mail. It sounds like you are on the
nether end of the learning curve here.
